RC Fan Builds Millennium Falcon Drone, Uploads Blueprints for Those Interested

Peter Mayhew, the famous British-American actor who plays Chewbacca in the Star Wars films, won’t be there to copilot the aircraft and the fact that it’s a small scale drone built in a Millennium Falcon cast is also quite problematic. Still, this RC enthusiast managed to build quite an impressive remote controlled flying craft that could always pass as a collectable for George Lucas’ famous epic space opera franchise.

Not only did the French quadcopter fan create his own mini-Millennium Falcon craft but the drone flying it around is also created by his own hands. And it turns out the Star Wars fan also has a big heart considering he’s sharing all his knowledge online for others to add their ideas and build similar crafts.

The Han Solo-aspiring drone maker claims his white spacecraft is able to do 90 km/h horizontal speed, that is without wearing its Millennium Falcon finish. The little craft you can see in the picture below won’t go faster than 30 km/h and is also causing a big energy consume since it weighs a lot more with the Star Wars cast on.

And since we’re talking about a hand made nice little project, we’re also looking at some really small costs here. To be precise, according to TheNextWeb, Olivier-FR has created the skin for his flyer with $11 (EUR10) of foam and added $13 (EUR12) worth LED lights which lights Han’s way, front and rear.

Since the man obviously proved to be quite talented, no way is he stopping at this unit. It turns out his next project is a TIE Fighter. Heck, soon enough he’ll finish the entire collection and we can finally have that backyard Star Wars alignment we could play with.
