One of the biggest players on the soon to be electric vehicle infrastructure market, ECOtality, announced today the appointment of Ravi Brar to the position of chief financial officer. Brar, until recently CFO at Exigen Services, will replace Barry Baer, who will remain the director of the company.
Brar is a man with quite an impressive resume, having worked as CFO and COO at Pac-West Telecom and the aforementioned Exigen. He holds an MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh and a BS in Managerial & Agricultural Economics from the University of California.
“We thank Barry for his contributions as CFO at ECOtality, especially for his guidance in helping the company transition from the Over the Counter Bulletin Board to the NASDAQ exchange. Barry worked to establish a strong financial foundation for ECOtality, and as a director he will continue to lend his expertise to the company,” said Jonathan Read, ECOtality CEO.
“We are excited to add Ravi to our executive team. We are confident that Ravi will play a vital role in our continued fiscal growth.”
ECOtality is the main player in the EV Project, US' largest infrastructure plan in terms of EV readiness. The program is supported through a $30 million grant awarded by the US Department of Energy and will see ECOtality installing 5,000 residential and commercial chargers in 13 cities, through five states.
The company has been selected by Japanese manufacturer Nissan as the preferred partner for the Leaf, the first full-electric vehicle for the masses.
