Ratthapark Wilairot Leaves Hospital, Begins Recovery

After a bunch of tragic news coming from the Wilairot family recently, finally a positive piece of information surfaces regarding Moto2 rider Ratthapark. According to a report from crash.net, it seems that the Thai Honda PTT Singha-SAG rider recently left the hospital and has already engaged in light training for his recuperation period.

As most of you probably know by now, Wilairot has been involved in a motorcycle accident in early December, while returning home from the funeral of his father Kristmas Wilairot.

The accident took place on December 6, at 3 AM, and left the Moto2 rider unconscious and with severe injuries and bruises on his hands and head. While the paramedics arrived at the scene of the accident shortly after the crash took place and managed to save Wilairot, the friend he was with at the time was unfortunately killed.

Almost three weeks after the incident, a period of time during which Ratthapark spent some time in intensive care at the Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok, his fast recovery helped him begin training while in the hospital, beginning with a daily routine of 30 minutes on a static exercise bike.

Now that he is out of the hospital and can start a more complete and complex recovery programme, he and his team are hoping all will go well in order for Feem (his nickname) to be able to climb on his Moto2 bike from as early as the 2011 season opener, to be held on March 20 in Qatar.
