It’s not everyday that you get to see a rare car like this BMW E92 M3 Track Edition. Actually, if you’re to do the math, the chances of spotting one on a random road around the world are slimmer than winning the lottery. And yet we call ourselves unlucky....
What we’re looking at here is one of only 30 such cars ever made by the Bavarian manufacturer back in 2011 that were destined only for the Netherlands market, probably aimed at being used on the Zandvoort circuit where the E92 M3 was more than successful in the DTM.
As you can see, one of the trademark features to be found only on these rare birds is the Frozen Grey color scheme used on the exterior. Inside and under the bonnet, the cars were fitted with the Competition Package which means they had a lower suspension (by 10 mm), revised dampers, a modified EDC module in Sport mode, revised DTC and forged 19 inch wheels.
Of course, carbon fibre couldn’t miss and most of the aerodynamic enhancers on the car are made of the valuable, lightweight material that keep the weight in check, allowing the Track Edition model to reach a top speed of 280 km/h (174 mph).
