With the Ducati 350 GTVs being already extremely rare, seeing a nifty customized one is even less often. However, Romanian customizer Liviu Maslin, going by the name of Desmo Bibu, has managed to bring back life in this old 350 GTV.
Seeing a Ducati 350 GTV more than 20 years old with such a fresh and crisp character is one thing we don;t get to see every day. And given the rather lifeless and dull looks of the original bike, this custom job is even more praiseworthy. Adding the well-known mechanical failures which used to plague the model only makes the original 350 GTV even less susceptible to stir up passion.
The heart of the original Ducati 350 GTV was running perfectly and only needed minor tweaks, but the bodywork was a complete mess and needed major intervention. The tank was as good as dead and Desmo Bibu just had to let it go and replaced it with a Resincorse fiberglass one.
The engine, frame and many other parts have been sandblasted or polished to restore their former glory, and the mauled Ducati 350 GTV received a glossy black paint job with cafe-racer decals. And since there was no room for doing half the job, Desmo Bibu also changed almost all the bolts when putting things back together, making sure the new stainless steel ones will last longer.
With an in-house designed and crafted rear cowl and seat which look amazing, the old Ducati 350 GTV is now turning heads as it prowls through the city.
