Introduced in 1966, the Dodge Charger was a great success, especially the second generation which was built from 1968 through 1970. However, the third generation iteration, with its new split grille and more rounded shell, is not to be ignored.
And this 1971 Dodge Charger R/T that showed up on eBay is the perfect example. Powered by a “top of the league” 7.2-liter 440-Six Barrel V8 engine mounted to an automatic transmission, the blue Charger depicted above is one of the only 98 examples built in this configuration.

According to the seller, the musclecar is loaded with options and went through a complete ground up restoration. To make it even better, it has only 39,665 miles on its odometer. Among other options, the Dodge also has an air-grabber hood, bucket seats and the rare Chrysler cassette player.

The car appears to be flawless and the “Buy it Now” price was set at $64,900 with an immediate deposit of $500 required. It’s probably not as documented as the 1970 Charger we wrote about earlier this week, but it costs a lot less than the $200,000 the R/T SE HEMI is expected to fetch at the Mecum Auction.
