Two rare Chevrolet Corvette models, built in the 1960s, will go under the hammer at the 2013 Cruisin' Nocona auction in Texas on April 19 and 20.
Listed by the Vicari Auction Company, the two Chevys have been stored since the 1980s and have less than 100,000 miles combined on their odometers.
The black 1962 Fuelie Corvette is one of only 254 to be built that year in the "Big Brake" formula and grabs it's power from a 360 HP fuel-injected 5.3-liter V8 engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The car left the factory painted British Racing Green and was painted black before stored for almost three decades. It was driven for less than 60,000 miles.
The second Corvette, a 1963 gold split window model, is one of the only 199 Z06 Coupes assembled that year and uses a 360 HP Rochester fuel-injected 5.3-liter V8 connected to a four-speed manual gearbox. It has only 38,000 miles and has retained its original factory color, though it has been repainted once.
"These exceptional Corvettes add even more excitement to our auction, as our roster of high quality, difficult-to-find classic automobiles continues to grow for Cruisin' Nocona," said Pete Vicari, president, Vicari Auction Co. "Both vehicles are in excellent condition and any classic Corvette collector will find them to be highly sought-after."
