A rare 1974 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 is now for sale on eBay, and the listing indicates this isn’t the typical barn find that you see these days.
More specifically, the car has been sitting in a barn for many years, and the seller says it was driven only occasionally. And what’s more, it’s just one of the 14,519 units produced in 1974, and all numbers match.

Delivered new in Missouri title shows ownership from 1995 in Missouri I was told the Firebird sat in a barn car covered from 1995 and rarely driven or used. The Firebird was last inspected in 2000 to be used on Missouri roads and license plates expired in 2001,” the seller says.

The car comes with a 400ci (6.6-liter) V8 engine and is in a somewhat nice overall condition both inside and outside.

The Firebird is all original, the eBay listing indicates, and it requires only a few fixes here and there. There’s not a lot of rust, and the floors and doors, for example, are in good shape.

The interior also requires a few retouches, including some upholstery work on the driver’s seat.

Vinyl top is very dry with surface rust underneath top cannot see or feel any holes under top. Headliner is very nice. Package tray is very nice. Rear sail panels by rear window are very dry and brittle. Carpet is nice but has a hole by drivers seat,” the seller says.

At this point, the car has 78,000 miles (128,528 kilometers) on the clock, and the engine runs well, so with a little work it could easily become a daily driver.

As for the price, the Firebird really doesn’t cost a fortune, and it can be yours for just $7,500. Since it’s running well, you can technically drive it home and no towing is necessary.
