That’s our opinion, but we’re clearly not on the same page with the owner of this 2019 Ford GT now up for grabs with Mecum Auctions for the company’s upcoming 34th Original Spring Classic Indy (May 14th through 22nd in Indianapolis, Indiana). Otherwise, it wouldn’t sport just 18 miles (29 km) on the odometer, right?
Hopefully, it will have the chance to spread its carbon fiber-striped wing at the track under future ownership. Otherwise, it would be a shame to have its major highlight go to waste in a well-lit (but secluded) air-conditioned garage.
This 2019 GT isn’t rare just because it has low mileage or the fact it’s part of a model series with low production numbers. Actually, its main attraction resides with the 600A Lightweight Package specification, which is said to be a “$70,000 option available only to select applicants.”
As is clear from the gallery shots, this GT is chassis number 116 of just 250 units produced by the Blue Oval for 2019, and the 600A brings additional goodies onboard in the form of certain weight-saving features snatched from the Carbon Edition. On the other hand, this could qualify as a high-valued daily driver because it keeps creature comforts such as the AC and infotainment systems.
Naturally, the Liquid Blue-painted with black Sparco Alcantara-dressed bucket seats unit keeps all the other main assets on board as well. Such as the twin-turbo intercooled 3.5-liter V6 engine making 647 hp, seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters, and the Akrapovi? titanium exhaust system. After all, it’s not rated at zero to 60 mph (96 kph) in 3 seconds for nothing.
