Remember Long McArthur, the dealership responsible for the Baja Off-Road Package for the Ranger? The Ford dealership returns with the F-150 LM650, an upgrade centered around the supercharger that Roush uses in the “world’s quickest production truck.”
The similarities with the F-150 Nitemare continue with the active exhaust system and 2.0-inch lift kit with Fox shocks, but from there on in, the LM650 is all about the looks and off-road capability. All-weather tray mats, tinted windows, folding bed cover, red brake calipers, bead-lock style wheels, and 35-inch BF Goodrich T/A K02 all-terrain tires are also featured.

Coupled to the 3.73 electronic locking rear axle, the 10-speed automatic transmission channels no fewer than 650 horsepower from the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 to the wheels. The supercharger takes its toll on fuel economy, which is why the LM650 is fitted with the 36-gallon fuel tank. Fender vents with LED lighting, rear wheel well liners, body-color fender flares, a Shelby-style hood scoop, and off-road front bumper cover with LED lighting are a few more of the highlights brought by Long McArthur.

The Lariat Luxury Package and Technology Package specified on the $84,445 gentle giant add BLIS for the trailer, remote start and remote tailgate release, a twin-panel moonroof, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, a tailgate step, voice-activated satellite navigation, deployable running boards, sporty bucket seats, and a 360-degree camera system. As if those weren’t enough, the vehicle also sports Dynamic Hitch Assist, Active Park Assist, quad-beam LED headlamps, and Bang & Olufsen audio.

Add to these features a five-year or 60,000-mile warranty, and you’re pressed to make a choice between the F-150 LM650 or the F-150 Raptor SuperCrew with a few desirable options. The Ford Performance off-road truck starts at $57,435 including the $1,595 destination charge, but pricing increases by at least $10,000 with the right extras.

If you had a choice, would you take the LM650 over the Raptor or spend your money on a Ram or the Silverado 1500?
