Brooklyn-based rapper John David Jackson, aka Fabolous, was just involved in a car accident while riding in his Ford Cadillac Escalade in Queens, New York. According to his post on Instagram, two trucks were involved in the crash, but nobody was seriously injured.
The accident happened today and was, according to the 36-year-old artist, his first one ever. “I just survived a car accident on the Van Wyck in Queens, N.Y. I Wanna Thank God for not only letting me walk away with a few bumps & bruises but also for letting my driver Ruben & the two truck drivers involved walk away alive also. This was my 1st time being in a car accident,” Fabolous wrote on his Instagram Account.
Looking at the image, it seems like the full-size luxury SUV didn’t receive too much damage, even though the truck looks a bit shattered. Considering we are are dealing with a 6.2-litter V8 engine that produces 403 horsepower, the vehicle is not as unwieldy as you’d think.
As a matter of fact, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, 2007-08 Escalade models had the highest fatality rate of their class with a driver death rate of 33 compared to the class average of 15.
