Seinfeld was not the only famous and rich person to be taking a peek at what the auto industry has to offer for the next couple of years. Rapper Ludacris was also present at the International Auto Show in Detroit the other day and, as his fellow comedian, he also was quite impressed by one of the event’s most popular hybrids, the Acura NSX.
Sure, he owns an impressive fleet of luxury rides, which includes a Bentley Continental GT, a Ferrari FF and a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, but what makes Ludacris different to most of his fellow rappers is that he never forgot where he came from. The Fast and Furious actor still owns the 1993 Acura Legend he bought before getting famous and not only did he invest a lot of money to keep it functionable, but he still loves driving it.

And since he is a fan of the brand, it was only natural one of the first rides he’d check out at the auto show would be the Japanese sportscar. After all, the design of this wonder is simply mesmerizing and quite captivating. Not that we’d ever ignore the looks of a sportscar, but under the bonnet is where the party gets even better.

As we were lucky to observe firsthand last week in Detroit, the body is made of Sheet Molding Composite (SMC) and aluminum, while the hybrid powertrain produces 550 horsepower, thanks to a longitudinally-placed twin-turbo V6 and three electric motors. The story could go on for a while, but we’ll be patient enough to test drive it first and later talk details.

Getting back to Luda for a second, as far as we can tell from his Instagram activity and his car collection, we’d easily assume one of the next rides to be joining the family will most likely be the NSX.
