Startech may have missed April Fools[' by about two weeks, but we were still laughing when we saw this Range Rover Pickup they made.
This isn't the first time somebody chopped a Range Rover to make a pickup truck. However, Startech could be the first company to have done a decent job of it, if you can say such a thing about a deformity.

This 2015 Range Rover Supercharged started life as a luxury SUV, probably the best vehicle of its kind in the world. However, Startech needed something special to show potential customers at this year's Shanghai Auto Show.

Not only did they create a pickup bed from scratch, but they also framed it with carbon fiber. Is that because Chinese pig farmers secretly want to be race car drivers?

Startech's full body kit has also been added. It includes everything from a new front bumper with larger air intakes to flares for the wheel arches that make room for 23-inch wheels. Painted in red with black accents, it's almost like a tribute from Britain to the communist revolution.

Pickups are designed to be practical beasts of burden. But there's not a single practical bone in the Range Rover Pickup. The 23-inch wheels freshly painted in black make going offroad impossible. There's also no place to put luggage and rear visibility is compromised.

You probably can't carry a cow or tow a boat with this SUV, but maybe one of those pigmy pet pigs will fit. The major redeeming feature is the overall build quality and the interior, which is dressed in carbon fiber, black leather and contrasting red stitching.

We'll make sure to check out the Startech monstrosity at the beginning of next week during the Shanghai Auto Show, so stay tuned.
