Range Rover Evoque Clone and Real Deal Crash in China, Both Are Red

The clone wars have begun. Angry for being called a cheap imitation, the Landwind X7 decided to take the real Range Rover Evoque out in what we can only call a freak accident.

The first thing we want to say here is that the crash looks fake and staged. Notice how there's no damage on either of the cars? Also, the fact that they are both red is suspicious. Notice how the photos were taken with people blocking the view from both directions.

Maybe there's a car rental company that had both of them and decided it needed some publicity. Or maybe a kid wants more likes on Baidu or some other social media website we don't know about. We don't know for sure, but foul play could be at work here.

It would be really funny if these photos from i.car showed a real crash. Considering the cars are almost the same, maybe the Landwind guy can order new fenders for both of them.

If you didn't know this already, the Evoque is one of many European luxury vehicles that have been cloned by Chinese companies. There's even a clone of the Range Rover Sport called Gonow GX6. As you can imagine, Land Rover wasn't too pleased when the Landwind X7 was revealed back in 2014. However, they haven't been able to do very much against it, with local authorities saying that it doesn't look like the Evoque.

To make matters worse, Landwind even makes a copy of the Evoque grille, the only part that's missing, which you can buy through the company dealerships. So why would you want to buy such a blatant copy? Because it's very cheap, obviously, with prices starting at Ford Fiesta money.

Editor's note: Why are all the Chinese clones named like Power Ranger weapons?
