Randy Moss Makes Toyota Switch

Randy Moss is set to become a winner this season. If not in the National Football League – where the New England Patriots failed to make the playoffs this year – at least in the Camping World Truck Series. In order to do that, the owner of Randy Moss Motorsports decided to switch car manufacturer for the upcoming season.

As announced by Moss, the team will part ways with Chevrolet and will begin a new partnership with 3-times Truck winners Toyota in 2009. Known to be one of the strongest manufacturers to compete in the Truck Series – following 3 championship titles in the last 5 years – Toyota looks like the perfect opportunity for RMM to score that first Truck win under Moss' co-ownership.

“We are extremely excited to be joining the Toyota team this season. Toyota has proved year in and year out that they are competitive on the track and can provide the resources to run for a championship. We are pleased to be a part of their camp,” said Moss for the series' official site after securing the new deal.

Not only the team expects to win races in the 2009 Truck Series, but will also try to go for the title. As announced by co-owner David Dollar, RMM's partnership with Toyota gave then a legitimate shot at winning the series this year.

“All the pieces came together quickly for us to make the switch to Toyota this year. Toyota has a winning reputation in the Truck Series. We feel that with our experience paired up with Toyota we have a legitimate shot at running for the championship and that is our main goal for 2009,” said Dollar.

The team is expected to field a single car in 2009, the No 81 Toyota. However, no details have emerged from the team officials in terms of driver lineup or sponsorship deals for the upcoming season.
