2020 is almost over. Just a few days to go, and this year will be just a memory. However, we will still carry some things with us into the new year. Aside from the common cold, one of those things is this awesome all-terrain e-board.
What you’re looking at in the cover photo is an electric longboard meant for any terrain. Since Christmas has happened for everyone around the world, you can jot this one down on next year’s list. But you better start being a real good kid and put some cash aside because it’s not cheap. Starting at $1,047 without any additional items, I too asked myself if it’s worth it.

So why is it that I'm being asked to spend over a grand on a longboard? Well, let’s get to know this so-called Rampage. Now, this board is built by the same team called Miles Board that put together one of the fiercest e-boards to hit the market, the Phantom. If you know nothing about this crew, I recommend finding out as it is currently pushing out some of the strongest products on the market. Not even conversion kits stand a chance against them.

But why build a longboard that can ride through anything that looks like a path? What kind of question is that? Of course we want a longboard that can go off-road! Haven’t you ever had the urge to shoot off into some grassy knoll? Well, with the Rampage you can. Anything from grassy knolls to gravel, trails, rocks, cliffsides (see video below), or whatever else you feel like breaking your bones over. It’s really happening!

How can it do all of this? Well, the motor is the main culprit. Actually, for this particular trinket, we aren’t offered just one, but two Outrunner motors that can be seen sticking out from underneath the rear wheels. Without going into too much detail, we can say that these two pocket-sized motors have enough juice to pull a fully grown adult across terrains that I would tackle either on foot or on an e-bike. Depending on the size of the wheels you choose when ordering your own, your Rampage has enough strength to hit a 28 mph (45 kph) top speed.

Before we go on, I need to ask if you understood that this so-called longboard can reach these speeds OFF-ROAD! As if that’s not enough to get me buying one of these, it can also climb a 25% gradient.

So what the hell is powering all of this? Like anything else electric these days, a battery pack holds the power for our toys. In this case, it's a 36V 504Wh battery pack that we can see lining the underside of the board. And judging by the size, it’s got to have some range for sure. Well, it does, but not as much as you would expect from something this large: only 19 miles (30 km).

It seems that the battery is reserved more for power and speed instead of range. Which makes sense taking into consideration you’ll be riding over sticks, stones, and the broken bones of the riders who tried to do what you’re doing. Just kidding, this isn’t Everest.

As for the rest of the setup, the entire deck with wheels and motor does come in at 26 lbs (11.8 kg), making it a bit on the heavy side. But then again, heavyweights don’t take on featherweights. All of the action is to be controlled directly from a 2.4G wireless remote with four levels of riding.

If you like it, click here and check out the rest of the perks for yourself. My only tip is you should know what the hell you’re doing before you start bombing local trails on this.
