Legend has it that Santa Claus uses a magical sleigh with nine reindeer to deliver presents all around the world in a single night, with Rudolph being the latest addition. In an alternate universe, the times have changed and Father Christmas has treated himself to a different means of transport.
Concept artist Oscar V reimagined this alternate sleigh in the guise of a TRX with skis instead of front wheels, an upgrade that should make Mr. Claus feel more comfortable during the night of December 24th. The mods continue with the green film on the headlights and a green marker light flanked by two amber bulbs in the hood scoop that feeds a supercharged HEMI V8.
We’re not sure how many ponies come courtesy of nine magical reindeer, but the 6.2-liter engine in the TRX is more than adequate for the job thanks to 702 horsepower (712 PS). Torque is nothing to scoff at either, but on the other hand, Ram didn’t design this truck for payload capacity.
Fully stock, the light-duty pickup can’t do better than 1,300 pounds (590 kilograms) because the frame and suspension system are set up exclusively for off-road prowess rather than work. When properly equipped, lesser versions of the Ram 1500 are rated at up to 2,300 pounds (1,043 kilograms).
There’s another problem with the TRX in this application, though. More to the point, that engine sure is loud enough to wake up the good boys and girls from their sleep. As such, this alternate Santa may want to consider a fully-electric powertrain like the GMC Hummer EV or Tesla Cybertruck.
As a brief refresher, the TRX would set Father Christmas back $69,995 excluding destination charge, the gas-guzzler tax, and the appropriate mods for delivering presents. The Cybertruck is currently listed at $69,900 for the three-motor option while the four-motor GMC Hummer EV pickup truck is the most expensive of the lot at $112,595 for the range-topping Edition 1.
