Ram Truck Brand Presents 2001 MY Plan

Earlier today, we presented Chrysler’s intentions to replace all the vehicles in its line-up for the 2011 model year, as part of its rebirth process. Now, it’s time to see how the new era affects the Ram Truck Brand.

The 2011 model year will see the company introduce the Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cab trucks. These will join the Dakota, Ram 1500 and Ram 2500/3500 heavy duty pick-ups.

The Ram trucks come with a choice of engines that includes two powerplants, such as the 4.7 liter Hemi V8, which delivers 390 hp and a highway fuel consumption of 20 mpg or the 6.7 liter Cummins Turbo Diesel. The latter comes with major overhaul intervals of 350,000 miles and is the only heavy duty pick-up engine to meet 2011 EPA compliance rules, without the need for a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF).

In addition to that, the Ram Power Wagon is returning. This comes with electric-locking front and rear differential, an electronic disconnecting sway bar, Bilstein shock absorbers, 33-inch BFGoodrich off-road tires, an underbody skid plate protection, a 4.56 axle ration for hill climbing and a custom Warn 12,000-lb. winch that is hidden behind the front bumper.
