When Dodge introduced the second-generation Ram for the 1994 model year, it was clear that the American pickup truck as we know it would change into a different breed. Since then, luxury has been one of the crucial aspects of Ram trucks, and the automaker is about to introduce an even more luxurious pickup.
Meet the Laramie Longhorn Southfork Edition, which will set you back $51,220 plus $1,395 destination. For the 2500 heavy-duty model, make that $55,620. Available in both 2x4 and 4x4 attire, Crew Cab and Mega Cab, long box and short box, the Laramie Longhorn Southfork comes as standard with Canyon Brown and Light Frost Beige Natura Plus full-grain leather upholstery.

Other than the seats, the leather can be found in areas such as the A- and B-pillar grab handles. A closer look at the interior reveals walnut trim on the steering wheel, and according to Ram, that’s real wood veneer. Overhead, the driver is welcomed by Light Greystone suede for the headliner. Last but not least, galvanized trim pieces found throughout the cabin level up the interior.

In addition to the luxed-up Laramie Longhorn Southfork, the FCA-owned truck manufacturer used the State Fair of Texas to introduce the 2018 Ram Heavy-Duty Lone Star Silver Edition. As the name implies, the newcomer is the sort of workhorse that was developed with the state of Texas in mind, demonstrating Ram’s commitment to America’s largest pickup truck market.

Available in 2500 and 3500 ratings with the 5.7-liter HEMI, 6.4-liter HEMI, and the 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel, the cheapest model retails at $44,735 plus $1,395 for the destination charge. Beautified by a chromed grille with Wave Mesh inserts, the Lone Star Silver Edition also features bright belt moldings, chromed side mirror caps, side steps, and polished 20-inch wheels.

The standard features list is more sensible than that of the Laramie Longhorn Southfork, with the cloth and vinyl bucket seats serving as a starting point. For customers with deep pockets, the long list of optional extras and upgrades is yours for the taking.
