The most luxurious Ram truck ever built, the 2011 Ram Laramie Longhorn, has been crowned with the title of Truck of Texas by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA), following a battle against several other iconic pickup trucks.
“The Ram Truck Brand is honored to be recognized by TAWA as Truck of Texas,” said Fred Diaz, Ram Truck Brand CEO said in a statement. "Given all of its iconic Southwestern design cues, nothing says 'real Texas Truck’ like the Ram Laramie Longhorn.”
“The Texas Auto Writers felt that we got it right; the Ram Laramie Longhorn captures the true spirit of Texas and the Southwest which appeals to people all across America."
The Laramie Longhorn, which will be offered as the Ram 1500, 2500 or 3500 Heavy Duty pickup trucks, rides on 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels (Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn) or polished aluminum wheels (Ram 2500 and 3500 Laramie Longhorn).
All Laramie Longhorn models will be fitted with full leather interior, engraved details and burled walnut woodgrain surfaces, in either dark slate gray and russet or bark brown and light pebble beige interior colors.
The model will be available in five color choices, Bright White, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl, Rugged Brown Pearl, Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl and an exclusive Sagebrush with White Gold exterior paint treatment, unique for the model.
“Ram’s new Laramie Longhorn edition proved itself in the toughest truck market in the nation this weekend. This new edition shows that Ram tough DNA can be both capable and comfortable,” said Michael Herzing, TAWA president.
