While Ford was busy comparing the 2015 F-350 to its Chevrolet and Ram-built heavy duty rivals, the Chrysler-owned brand released a new commercial for the 2014 Ram Heavy Duty in which it brags about the truck’s best-in-class towing capacity and 850 lb-ft of torque.
“We don't sit idle wondering how to design a groundbreaking truck. We get out and walk thousands of miles in the shoes of the men and women that use our trucks. That's why we know you depend on your Ram Heavy Duty to get the job done without faltering. Best-in-class 30,000 lbs towing and 850 lb-ft of torque are our way of making sure that happens,” says Ram Truck.
Revealed earlier this year, the 2014 Ram Heavy Duty lineup starts at $29,600 (not including destination) and comes with a brand new 6.4-liter Hemi engine rated at 410 HP and 429 lb-ft of torque. The mill features VVT with cylinder deactivation and becomes the first gasoline engine to be fitted in the dual rear wheel Ram 3500.
Production of the 2014 Ram Heavy Duty is already underway at the Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Coahuila, Mexico.
