Rain May Ruin Our Plans, Says Marcos Ambrose

With the Dollar General 300 race held on the Lowe's Motor Speedway quickly approaching, both teams and organizers are keeping an eye on the forecast and pray for a nice and sunny weekend. However, rain has already been forecasted for Thursday and Friday, but it may stop just in time for the start of the race. But more importantly, a potential rain on these two days actually means no practice time for the Nationwide drivers which, according to Marcos Ambrose, forces them to set up the cars using information gained in the past and based on their experience.

“If we don’t get any practice time, we’ll still be all right. It’s the same for everyone. We’ll start the race with what we know and we’ll make adjustments as we go. The team that does their homework the best will have the advantage early in the race. We’ve got a real good feel for these cars, so we should be ahead of the curve a little bit,” Ambrose commented on the forecast according to Frontstretch.

Marcos Ambrose is currently the tenth in the 2008 official driver standings, with a total number of points of 3456 and with 3 top-5 finishes. Ambrose raced in all 30 races of the season and recorded a single win, but according to the same source, the Australian wants to get even more from this championship.

“There are five races left. We’re not going to take it easy. In fact, we’re going to ramp up our efforts. You never stop learning in this sport; you never stop trying to get better. We’re a much better race team that we were five races ago. We should be even better in five races than we are right now,” Ambrose concluded.
