Raikkonen: "I'll Sign 2010 Deal When I Feel Like It!"

Again, Kimi Raikkonen doesn't seem too worried about his future in Formula One. A few weeks after willingly renouncing his Ferrari contract for 2010 in order to make room for Fernando Alonso, the Finn denied having signed a contract with one of the existing Formula One teams.

Prior to Ferrari's announcement of Fernando Alonso, Kimi was linked with a move to McLaren Mercedes for the upcoming season. Some reports even claimed the 2007 F1 champion actually inked a pre-contract with the Woking based team, with the condition that Ferrari released him of his duties for next year.

However, when asked by reporters in Brazil what are his future plans for 2010, the Finnish driver hinted that he is yet to decide on his future team. Again, he said he doesn't lack the options, only that he doesn't feel like signing a deal just yet.

For sure I can stay in formula one if I want to, but there is no point in making a stupid contract so I will wait and see what is my best option. I will make my decision when I feel like it,” said Raikkonen in Brazil.

Kimi's move to McLaren – or Toyota, as the Japanese manufacturer also showed interest in signing Raikkonen – would certainly trigger plenty of movements on the drivers' market for 2010, as did Alonso's to Ferrari a few weeks ago. However, as confirmed by the Finn himself in recent weeks, his future team will have to provide him with a title winning car, or else they won't get his signature.

Raikkonen will turn 30 on Saturday, and stated that his sole aim for the weekend is to score a podium for Ferrari.
