Raikkonen Aims to Finish Rally Jordan

Kimi Raikkonen did not have his share of success in the World Rally Championship, but then again he only contested for Citroen Junior Team in 2 WRC events so far. While yet to make the scoreboard this season, the Finn proceeded to making a better acquaintance with his Citroen C4 WRC prior to Rally Jordan, via a 2-day test in Southern France.

Heading to Jordan for this weekend's rally, Raikkonen felt more comfortable getting to know his car better ahead of another venue that is completely unknown territory for the Finn. And, since crossing the finish line has been a problem for Kimi in his first 3 WRC outings so far – the only time he actually did it was in Sweden, but after hitting a snow bank on Friday – his aim for the Jordan outing is solely to finish it.

I’m looking forward to the rally. But Jordan is probably the most unfamiliar territory we will face so far. The plan is certainly to try to get to the end. We want to see where we are compared to everyone else, and gradually try to reduce the gap,” said Kimi Raikkonen ahead of Rally Jordan, as reported by the WRC official site.

As far as his recent test goes, Raikkonen admitted it was a great experience for him, as he also got to test his medical condition ahead of this weekend's rally. During Rally Mexico less than a month ago, the Finn had experienced some back pain in his C4 WRC.

The test went really well: we were able to have a bit more time in the car, which is what I need most. There was no real pain in the back and I’m feeling good,” added the Citroen Junior Team racer.
