This is an awesome time to be a Porschephile, with examples of both the 991.2 and the 992 being out there in the Porsche network. And we've brought along an image of the two next to each other, which simply floats our Zuffenhausen boat.
The 2020 model is a Carrera S (the automotive producer has only released the S and 4S models so far), while the 991.2 is a special, but not a GT car, namely the Carrera T.
And, to make everything better, both Neunelfer are dressed in Racing Yellow - make sure to check out the Instagram posts at the bottom of the page to zoom in on the rear-engined machines.
Now that the Carrera S and Carrera 4S are among us, the first months of next year will bring us the non-S models. As for the final part of 2019, that's when we might get to see the 911 Turbo and the 911 GT3.
Note that production-spec prototypes of both have already been spotted, with the test mules having been left behind - check out the links to see the new aero of the rear-engined animals.
As for the confirmed hybridization, the German automotive producer hasn't delivered any details on the matter. This means we might have to wait for the .2 mid-cycle revamp of the eight-gen model to see the gas-electric revolution. And, after six decades of internal combustion, this will be quite the change.
However, the rumor mill talks about the 911 following the Panamera and the Cayenne down the two-model hybrid sub-range. As such, we could end up with a 4 E-Hybrid delivering Carrera S levels of performance, obviously with a focus on efficiency, as well as a Turbo S E-Hybrid.
The latter might be a 700+ horsepower monster, but we can only wonder about the kind of batteries used by the German engineers and weight is the most important factor here.
