R36-Powered VW Eos with Scirocco Face Cuts Loose

Worthersee is over, but we keep getting nice footage that can't be ignored. This video is from custom exhaust specialists HG Motorsport, who are well known for the Bull-X system.

The car is an old favorite of ours, as unique as anything you've ever seen. It started life as a regular old Volkswagen Eos, but the owner took advantage of the common group architecture to install some killer parts.

The whole front end is from a Scirocco coupe, the R version, to be precise. What kind of person dreams of such a car? You can find out by watching the video, which briefly shows the owner fist-bumping his VW-loving friends.

Anyway, the transformation doesn't stop there. The Eos monster also features custom flared fenders made by a company called KTS Karosserietechnik. You might remember them from that Golf 7 GTI Cabriolet we showed you about a month ago.

The full name of this gray car is "Projekt Eos R36". That should give you some idea of where the awesome exhaust sound is coming. Exclusive to Europe, Japan, and Australia was a limited edition Passat R36, which featured a 3.6-liter V6 engine. This engine made 300 horsepower and featured twin exhaust pipes, just like the Golf R32 of that era.

Most people would just imagine a 3.6-liter V6 engine doesn't fit under the hood of an Eos. However, it does, and it makes a great sound as well. As the driver cars up the mountain roads, the DSG gearbox releases the gas at just the right time to make the pipes burble and pop.

Adding air suspension is sure to make the car more expensive. However, it all depends on your perspective. Not only is this the only Eos with a Scirocco R face and a V6 engine in the world, but it probably cost less than a new Audi S3 Cabriolet as well.
