Quinny LongboardStroller Is the Perfect City Commuter for Both You and Your Kid

They make thousands of stroller models these days, but most of them work on the same principle: you need to push it around. Quinny - an urban family mobility manufacturer - has come up with a better idea: a longboard stroller. It’s the solution for traveling long distances in a fun and eco-friendly way.

In just a couple of words, they stuck a stylish stroller onto a longboard and added all the needed safety features. It’s the brainchild of Dorel Industries-owned Quinny urban family mobility solutions maker and comes in a limited 1000-unit edition. Does it ride as cool as it looks? Well, it sure seems so.

Regarding limitations, there aren’t many. Unfolded, the thing is 1,355 mm (53 inches) long, 505 mm (19.8 inches) wide, and 1,060 mm (41.7 inches) high, with the height shrinking at 365 mm (14.37 inches) when you fold it. The Longboard Stroller weighs 11 kg (24 lbs) and can support a parent of up to 100 kg (220 lbs) and a child from 1 year up, who should weigh no more than 15 kg (33 lbs).

Quinny claim they are using the best components and materials to deliver a high-end product. Even though the mother company - Dorel Industries - is based in Canada, the assembly of this product happens on the old continent. The company is working with proven longboard industry names like Tracker, ABEC11 and HLC to ensure a smooth and built-to-last ride.

As far as we can tell, riding this thing may be even easier than using a skateboard. Its manufacturer claims you don’t need any longboard experience to use it, as after a bit of practice anyone should be able to use it. Steering goes automatically by just moving your weight, while braking is done with a hand brake similar to what regular bikes have.

Concerning safety - which is probably the first thing one thinks about when seeing it - Quinny claims their longboard stroller was developed, tested, and approved for use in the European Community. Unfortunately, it was not designed for other territories, notably North America, Australia, or New Zealand.

As we said, the Quinny longboard stroller is available in a limited number, and it’s priced at EUR599.
