Qatar Royal's Lamborghini Wrecked in London Smash Up

The car belongs to Qatar’s ruling Al-Tahni clan and was nearly a write-off after it was involved in a high-speed game on the crowded city streets of London. The accident left it with a nasty ‘dent’ at the front and a broken headlight.

The Qatari royals have apparently shipped a number of their distinctively colored supercars to London, where they recently acquired the famed Harrods department store. Having a lot of money to spend, they usually customize supercars in a baby blue color, letting people know who the cars belong to. Back in June the very same baby blue Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce was seen clamped for illegal parking, together with its Koenigsegg CCXR brother.

In the hair-raising incident at Hyde Park Corner, the unlucky Lambo collided with a white BMW E60 M5. “The BMW smashed into the central reservation, bounced off and then hit the Lamborghini,” according to an eyewitness. “Both cars were definitely traveling very fast.”

There were no arrests made following the incident because the Arab millionaires had taken their expensive cars home by the time Police had reached the incident.

“We thought it was going to quieten down but it’s picking up again,” solicitor Bruce Beringer, who lives in the posh neighborhood, told London Evening Standard. “It’s like a second season. We are kept up until 4 am because of the noise of these people revving their engines and racing down the street. These Bugattis and Ferraris make a huge amount of noise.”

The Qatari royal family bought Harrods from Mohamed Fayed for £1.5 billion in April. One resident, who lives in the vicinity of the famous store, said: “It all got noticeably worse when the Qataris took over Harrods. The supercars started being around Knightsbridge all the time.”
