Chinese automaker Qoros is looking to try its luck on the austerity-hit European market with their all-new 3 Sedan model, but some say the new company needs to do more to actually stand a chance.
While Qoros is also planning an estate version of the Geneva-showcased 3 Sedan, car designer Theophilus Chin (who else, huh?), has envisioned a hatchback variant based on the company's Cross Hybrid Concept.
"Well, a hatchback, along with the estate variant, will be crucial for Qoros to do well especially in Europe," Chin said, and we couldn't agree more. The Chery-owned company will most probably offer a hatchback, but they need to do that really fast to survive on this ever-changing market.
Turning the Hybrid Concept into a 3 Hatchback shouldn't be that complicated anyway. According to Chin, all they need to do is remove the roof racks and chrome fittings from the, doors, window frames, trunk and front fascia, and reshape the rear spoiler to make it resemble the 3 Sedan more.
What's your take on this? Could we have a Golf rival on hour hands in the near future?
