Qashqai Among the Most Reliable Vehicles in Its Class, ADAC Says

One of the most influential surveys out there has again named the Nissan Quashqai as one of the top contenders when it comes to quality. The popular crossover has achieved a top ‘very reliable’ score from the ADAC breakdown organization in Germany, Europe’s largest automobile club representing more than 16 million members.

The Japanese-badged crossover has placed at the top of its class, beaten only by premium German brands and finished sixth (out of 22) in its class, ahead of key competitors such as the VW Tiguan, Ford Kuga and Toyota RAV4.

“These outstanding results underline the exceptional build quality engineered into all the cars produced by NMUK. We are particularly proud of QASHQAI, our biggest selling model in Europe. Its performance in the ADAC surveys shows how we continue to deliver top-class quality even when we are working flat out to satisfy the huge demand for this exceptional model,” said Simon Thomas, Senior Vice President, Nissan Europe.

The Qashqai wasn’t the only Nissan model to be recognized in the ADAC’s 2010 Breakdown Survey (Pannenstatistik). The Nissan NOTE came fifth in its class (out of 23), also showing four years of continuous ‘very reliable’ performance, while the outgoing Nissan Micra achieved ‘very reliable’ status in 2009 and 2010. All are ore were built at Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK’s Sunderland plant.

“Nissan QASHQAI was launched in 2007 as an innovative and attractive alternative to the mainstream hatchbacks that dominate the European C segment. Its appealing combination of SUV looks and the practical qualities of a more conventional family car created the compact crossover segment. QASHQAI was an immediate sales success and continues to dominate the segment, its popularity boosted by a major facelift in 2010 which further enhanced the vehicle’s quality and refinement,” Nissan brags.
