This is probably the most exciting video Infiniti has ever put together and it's only half a minute long. Why? Because of the car in it is totally right. From the same automotive group that brought us the mighty GT-R comes a car with a bit more restraint and a lot more class, the first true performance sedan in Infiniti history.
It's called the Q50 Eau Rouge and it's based on their compact executive sedan, the 3 Series fighting Q50. Supposedly built to celebrate F1 victories, we actually thing this is Infiniti's fearful first step into a new segment. In Geneva, the Q50 Eau Rouge was announced as having a V-shaped heart a la GT-R which promises to over 500hp and 600-lb-ft of torque. Any more than that and a car to rival the M3 and C63 would be total overkill.
Looking at what's under the camouflage, this car is certainly as sexy as any of the Germans. The Q50 was already a nice design, but with plenty of carbon fiber F1 goodies added, this thing is absolutely gorgeous. Infiniti's latest model has been criticized for being numb and having an totally disconnected steering wheel. That could all change with input from Infiniti brand ambassador and wheelman Vettel.
The race driver got behind the wheel of the car at the Millbrook Proving Ground automotive testing facility in Britain. The Japanese automaker has announced that new details about the car are pending, to be announced in a couple of weeks at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show.
