Pumped-up Mercury Motorsport Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R Looks Addicted to Asphalt

As we roam the Internet searching for everything that's car-related in this world, we often stumble upon creations we can't ignore. Like, for example, this yellow 2001 Nissan GT-R with 1000+ horsepower.

We can't imagine a world where a Nissan GT-R is not turning heads whenever it makes an appearance, especially an R34 GT-R. But when you paint it yellow, the visual effect goes from attractive to mesmerizing in an instant.

So, when life gives you yellow Nissan GT-Rs, make sure you make a helluva tuning example out of them, like the one we spotted on The Lowdown. That's probably what Mercury Motorsport had in mind with a particular 2001 Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec. That's the petrolheadese pronunciation for "the old Godzilla is the best Godzilla".

The car puts a staggering 1072.8 horsepower at all four wheels, but that figure was squeezed with an aftermarket spec list the size of China. We'll detail just a few, like, for example, the upgraded valves, valve springs and retainers, custom camshafts, a Nitto Performance Engineering 3.2 stroker kit, Precision 7675 turbo and a Haltech Platinum Pro ECU.

There's an NISMO-sourced front differential working together with Brembo callipers and slotted rotors, and you haven't seen the exterior change log yet.

The colour making your pupils contract is called Lightning Yellow. The carbon fibre front diffuser, rear pods and side skirts come from Z-Tune, while inside, passengers sit on Bride Brix II seats covered in leather.

Even with the exterior add-ons, the car keeps its original shape to some extent, which makes it instantly recognisable ever for the untrained eye. All the car needs right now is the open road.
