PULSE - Electric Race Car of the Future

As the automotive industry is moving rapidly into the electric field for the future, trying to cut down CO2 emissions year after year and looking for solutions to create eco-friendlier cars generation after generation, it would be at least assumable that all the other field of activities related to it would follow the same path.

Leaving aside the pros and cons launched by our website months ago on whether an electric future is really THE SOLUTION for cutting pollution in the automotive world, some feel that replacing common propulsion methods such as the internal combustion engine with propulsion generated by an electric motor of some kind could really save the trees on this planet.

And, since a very important branch of the automotive industry is motor racing – several technologies tested there have been later implemented in road cars – some designers have decided to step ahead of their time and envision the race car of the future. Last week, we showed you a project involving an F1 car with no rims and incorporating some eco-friendly technologies absent from today's F1 challengers.

Now, we present you the PULSE. Actually, it's not ours to present, but designer's Funfere Koroye, a junior in the Savannah College of Art Design. What he envisioned here is a Gravity racer that gets its power from on-board battery packs. This way, the pollution would be cut significantly, as no emission whatsoever would exit the tail pipes.

This particular battery electric vehicle (BEV) would not only cut carbon dioxide emissions and provide a safer environment around it, but would also feature a sporty look (as shown in the pictures) that would make it incredibly attractive for the buyers. Logically, it won't give the driver the same racing feel when stepping on the gas, but the look on the by-standers' faces will certainly worth it.
