This just in from PSA Peugoet Citroen - PSA will start building the long-rumored EMP1 platform at a later date this year. Before we go any further, we have to pose the question “What model is it going to use it?"
Unfortunately, PSA is being tight-lipped at the moment. We’ve been promised that this new EMP1 platform has been attributed to a “new premium compact segment vehicle,” which is going to “extend the brand’s B-segment lineup alongside the DS3.” Again, what future model could it be?

So why would PSA Peugeot Citroen build two B-segment-sized platforms at the same time? It’s pretty curious, especially if you consider that the DS3, C3 and the 208 will be replaced in 2017 with new-gen models underpinned by the EMP1.
