Concepts are built for one of two reasons. Either they waste money and show what could have been or they show what will be. We’re hoping this shows something that Kia actually wanted to build.
The Korean automaker has shown it can change how people see it, and together with Hyundai has improved thechnology across the board. Yet their task is not yet over.

Making its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in a few days is this, the Kia Provo concept. Kia describes it as having a “"mischievous yet friendly grille and headlight arrangement."

With a longer bonnet, a fastback tail and large alloys, we’re not really sure what to see it as. Yet the resemblance to a Hyundai Veloster is there. Thanks to a bubble roof and a interesting play on colors, it’s also a bit reminiscent of the MINI Coupe.

And just like the MINI, the interior is a mix of new with a touch of retro. Place your finger over the carbon-fiber steering wheel center, and you’d swear you’re in the next Audi quattro.

Since this is just a concept, and powertrain details are not available, it’s easy to fall in love with it. But there can be no denying Kia’s image could benefit from the arrival of another lifestyle vehicle, a small B-segment sportscar maybe.
