Proton Unveils Preve in Australia

Proton has just unveiled the Preve, at the Australian International Motor Show, in Sydney. It is a compact sedan which will go on sale in the country, with a starting price of $18,990 AUD. They claim it is the most technologically-advanced vehicle they’ve ever made.

It features a 1.6-liter engine, which puts out 110 hp and 150 Nm of torque. It can be mated to either a five-speed manual gearbox, or a CVT. With the manual option, it reportedly uses just 7.2 l/100km, while the optional CVT raises that figure to 8.0 l/100km.

The car will be available for purchase in Australia some time in 2013, and it will include a lot of kit as standard, even on the most basic models - Bluetooth connectivity, multifunctional steering wheel, keyless entry, powered mirrors and windows as well as rear parking sensors.

It is also not a bad looking machine, either, and while its boxy shape may not be to everybody’s taste, the understated looks will surely find their fans.
