Proton S16 FLX Launched in Australia

The 2012 Proton S16 FLX has made its official debut ‘down under’. It has been launched on the Australian market with several improvements, a new gearbox and new safety features as well.
The new car now gets a whole host of safety features as standard, some of which weren’t even available on the old version of the car. It gets dual front airbags, ESP and ABS, and seatbelt pre-tensioners all as standard, on any version of the car you will choose.The engine range remains the same, with the car being available with a 1.6-liter petrol engine, which can be coupled to either a manual 5-speed or a CVT gearbox. Fuel efficiency rating stands at 6.2 l/100km for the manual and 6.5 l/100km for the auto.

The car’s styling is also revised, with a redesigned front fascia, side mirrors with LED indicatos, LED tail-lights and a new rear bumper. The car is now also available with 14-inch alloys, as an option on the base model. If you are interested in purchasing this compact sedan, be prepared to pay $2000 AUD (€1,600) more than before, with the base car now costing $13,990 AUD (€11,200), and rising to $16,990 AUD (€13,650) for a fully-specced version with an automatic gearbox.
