When people say that a Fiesta ST can outperform the Toyota GT 86 on the track they forget that the Fiesta is mostly a computer on wheels that calculates every one of the vehicle’s parameter and distributes its force, apply brakes on certain wheels and calculate Pi’s 20th digit, while giving you close to zero fun.
On the other hand, the Toyota GT 86 was built for fun, following the same ingredients used since the mankind discovered drifting - powerful engine up front bolted to a manual shifter that sends all the power to a mechanical differential to the rear wheels, while maintaining the the amount of geeky wizardry at a minimum.

Result? A tail-happy car that can turn a boring grocery shopping session into a drifting event in the car park, as seen in the video bellow. Of course, we don’t encourage you to go and drift in the mall’s parking area. The maneuvers in the clip were performed by professionals on a closed course.
