Project Scout: Build a Legend Custom Contest Winners Announced

The Project Scout: Build a Legend custom bike competition is over, and the three winners have been announced. Indian Motorcycle's contest was aimed at offering builders around the world a common platform to show off their skills and customization talent, while showcasing their works to the entire Indian enthusiast community.

No less than 35 dealers entered this competition worldwide, having submitted photos of their custom Indian Scout bikes by January 8. We remind you that the Project Scout: Build a Legend contest only had minimal rules, allowing the builders to exercise their unbridled creativity.

No restrictions regarding the theme, style, or budget were imposed. The only rule required that at least three genuine Indian Scout accessories were installed on each of the bikes entered in the contest. The Scout-dedicated catalog contains over 200 such parts and accessories, so finding the best-looking combinations was not exactly a hard job.

The first stage of the contest saw the fans vote for their three favorite builds. The creators of the three winning bikes got an all-expense-paid trip to the 75th annual Daytona Bike Week for themselves plus a guest.

Online voting sent to Daytona "The Rebel" created by Indian Motorcycle Winnipeg, Headingley, Manitoba, "Fusion" by Indian Motorcycle Charlotte, Lowell, North Carolina, and "The Boardtracker," another Canadian build from Motos Illimitees, Terrebonne, Quebec.

In Daytona, the grand final saw a panel of judges assess the entries and declare who was the Top Winner. The panel included "celebrity bike builder Roland Sands, prominent motorcycle blogger Cyril Huze, Marine veteran Sean Carroll, motorcycling luminary Jason Paul Michaels and his wife and co-founder of Standard Motorcycle Co., Leticia Cline," as Indian reports.

The Quebec-based "Boardtracker" was chosen as the Top Winner of the Indian contest, followed by the Fan Favorite "Fusion" machine and the Builders Choice Award that went to the "Ol 71," a creation of Heritage Indian Motorcycle of Northwest Arkansas, Rogers, Arkansas.
