If we’re to believe what the guys from Slightly Mad Studios are saying, along with the new Project Cars video game, we’ll be in for a revolution in the field of racing games.
The prospects are rather promising at the moment, at least according to their latest teaser published on Youtube, showcasing a BMW E92 M3 GTS racing around Laguna Seca on a split screen. On the left side of the image we have real-life footage of the car actually doing the lap while on the right side runs footage of in-game graphics of the same model.

At first, you might find it actually tricky to set the two apart. That’s until you see the trees and the stands. That’s where the difference is made as there are still a few hick-ups to be made up for in this regard. The trees seem pixelated and the stands look rather different, using even different sponsors, due to copyright infringement laws.

Even so, as the guys promise to take care even of these details, the game should be a real eye-opener. Furthermore, if the controls are fine tuned to the absolute limit, Project Cars might climb up in our top, overtaking the reigning king of the moment, Forza 5.

As for the cars they used, the GTS M3 sure does a great impression. With a stroked S65 4.4-liter V8 under the bonnet making 444 HP, it's pretty hard not to recognize its sound the moment you hear it. Fortunately, as far as we could tell, the virtual sound you can hear in the game sounds really close to the real deal. Check it out!
