Project 22 is an endeavor meant to raise awareness on the tragic destinies of American veterans. The name was chosen in conjunction with the 22 suicides veterans commit each day, as estimated by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The whole thing started at Medicinal Missions, and involves two combat-wounded veterans, Dan and Doc, who set out on a motorcycle journey across America, with the goal of reaching out to those in need, and restore hope and trust where at times it seemed there were none.

Dan and Doc interviewed researchers, healthcare providers, veterans themselves and more, trying to identify the life-saving resources some of them found, and spread the word about them. Alongside the awareness ride, Dan and Doc also raised funds to produce a longer, non-profit documentary featuring the men and women they’ve met, and making their stories available to a wider audience. The documentary and the idea behind it are aimed at preventing veteran suicide.

Project 22 is open for public, tax-deductible donations going towards the film and the campaign. As the creators of this project tell us, “Medicinal Missions has successfully fundraised for and completed pre-production and principal photography for the film, and are currently raising funds for the costs of post-production and distribution.”

Please check with Medicinal Missions and Project 22 website to learn more about the campaign and ways to get involved.
