Production Version Toyota FCV To Debut at 2014 CES

Since the Toyota FCV features so much technology and electronic wizardry, it seems that the company won’t unveil a production version at a normal car show, but at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, held in January next year.

According to the national manager of advanced technology and business communications for Toyota Motor Sales John Hanson, the electronics show in Las Vegas is the perfect place to take the wrap off of its production ready fuel cell vehicle.

"This is going to be a big deal and CES is the biggest trade show in the world of any kind and it draws a global, tech-oriented audience," said John. "It is a legitimate and logical launching pad for advanced technology in the automobile business."

The technology behind the FCV is said to offer it a range of 310 miles (500 km) on a single tank of hydrogen, which can also be refilled in a couple of minutes, removing the issue of recharging the batteries like in a normal EV.
