According to latest reports, Lexus is set to showcase the production version of its LF-NX compact SUV concept at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March.
Also, the production model is said to retain much of the concept’s striking design, aiming to attract customers that don’t want to buy a boring-looking compact SUV the competition offers.
"What we're finding is that these days customers want to be more expressive, so a lot of the concept's inherent design will come out in the finished car,” Lexus European director Paul Van der Burgh told Auto Express.
"We've seen the finished design, we know what it will look like and it will definitely stand apart. Why would you want something that looked like everything else in the segment? Our customers have always wanted a combination of design and technology, but design has definitely become more important," Van der Burgh added.
This and the fact that the company also wants to fit the new car with a 2-liter turbocharged engine making about 380 Nm of torque, will make the NX a hell of an alternative for the Range Rover Evoque, the only one in the class that doesn’t look that boring.
