Production of the 2013 Nissan Altima Begins in Tennessee

The Nissan Altima is a much-loved model on the American market. All the various generations of Altimas have been selling on US soil for 19 years now, with its lifespan spreading over 4 generations and numerous facelifts. The latest incarnation has just entered production at Nissan’s Tennessee plant in Smyrna.

The fifth generation Altima is a completely redesigned car for 2013, despite using the old car’s platform and some of the running gear. The new car also gets the old car’s engine range, composed of only two units, both petrol powered (2.5- and 3.5-liter, with the latter being the familiar Nissan V6, used in most of their larger cars).

The base price for the entry-level model equipped with the 2.5-liter engine is $21,500 (€16,940), while a V6 car starts at $25,360 (€19,970).
