We all hoped that Lexus will bring the production version of its first compact crossover NX at the Geneva Motor Show this year. Sadly, the big unveil got postponed for the 2014 Beijing Motor Show.
Lexus just announced that it will reveal its much anticipated new crossover at the Beijing Motor Show on April 20th during a press conference.

The NX will mark Lexus’ entrance into the growing segment of premium compact crossovers, being positioned bellow the RX in the automaker’s lineup.

Dictating its aggressive sharp design was the Lexus LF-NX concept introduced to the public at the Frankfurt and Tokyo Motor show last year. The concept amazed everyone with its carefully sculpted shapes, the huge spindle grille, large side air vents, thin LED headlights with separate L-shaped daytime running lights.

A turbo concept was also revealed at Tokyo, hinting that the production model will also benefit of the new 2-liter turbocharged engine. The concept was 2 inches lower and a front under spoiler, giving away the fact that the production turbo model will be visually differentiated from the aspired one.

With about a month and a half to wait until we see the final product, let’s take a look at the spy photos and renderings that surfaced the Internet in the meantime.

A Lexus official also said that the production NX will retain a lot of the design cues found on the prototype. However, a leaked photo from a press conference showed the front end of the almost-ready for production NX of which we can’t really say it’s retaining the concept’s fierceness.
