Production BMW 4 Series Spotted at Airport Just Before Shanghai

The 2013 Shanghai Auto Show is just around the corner. That means that most manufacturers will be sending their cars over to the Asian country to prepare for the big event. Autoweek photographers spotted a production model 4 Series Coupe at the Schiphol airport yesterday and that got our imagination going.

The photos show several BMW models in camouflage but a rather special one caught our eye. We're talking about an Estoril Blue 4 Series that seems a bit changed. Design elements show a different overall shape of the car, one that's more aggressive and exudes more power.

This one has a front end that resembles an M model a lot. It has wider kidney grilles, sleeker forward pushed headlights and bigger air intakes on the front bumper. Actually, looking at it you might even think it's the new M4 but that isn't likely since the 4er hasn't been yet released.

However, even though BMW already announced its line-up for the Shanghai Auto Show we could expect some surprises from the Bavarian manufacturer. Of course, the cars caught on film at the Dutch airport could be sent of anywhere and not necessarily to Shanghai but wouldn't it be great if they unveiled the M4 and the 4er Coupe in a couple of days?
