This year, the Honda NSX was all the rage. The concept car was used by Tony Stark in the very successful Avengers movie as his personal toy, but also made quite the big impression in the motor show scene. In January, it bowed as an Acura in Detroit, followed by Geneva in March. They than painted it red a and sent it for its Chinese debut at the Beijing Auto Show.
But that concept car, however sexy it might have been, was only a fake NSX, built on the bones of the old one using clay and fake body panels.

Despite the full production version being about two years away, Honda is reportedly going to show just such a car at the upcoming 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).

The news comes from British magazine AutoExpress, who learned this from a “top exec for Honda Brazil”. The report loses credibility by saying the NSX will go on sale in the UK later in 2013.

The NSX will be designed and most likely built in the US, with production coming in 2015.

Either way, we’ll be in Detroit to make sure the NSX is or isn’t there. If they do decide to show it there as a production vehicle, it will be to quench people’s fears about the hybrid drivetrain.
