In a recent interview, Infiniti president Johan de Nysschen explained how Nissan's premium division will push for more sales in China, where buyers are not as interested in heritage. But of course Europe and North America will still have to play a huge role if their ambitions goals are to be reached.
For Europe, Infiniti's model offensive has one name, and that's "Q30". This premium compact vehicle has been previewed in concept form two months ago and will probably be ready for production in 2015.

The Q30 will be the most youth oriented car offered by Infiniti and will hopefully have the lowest sticker price. Modularity is the key to this, and production will take place at Nissan's Sunderland plant. Its platform will most likely be shared with the new Qashqai crossover, and Infiniti has outright said their Q30 has some crossover characteristics as well.

This rendering shows you a watered down version of that Q30 concept, featuring a lot of cosmetic elements from the Mercedes A-Class. It's long been rumored that the Q30 is actually going to be based on Mercedes' front-wheel drive MFA platform. The GLA-Class and Q30 could also be built together at a new factory in Mexico.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
