The good folks at ProCharger Superchargers are just about ready to finally showcase their supercharger upgrade system for the mid-engined C8 Chevrolet Corvette. After catching the first signs of upcoming tire punishment back in April, we have been waiting for quite a while for this to happen.
So far, the company has revealed a couple of teasers featuring two Corvettes – a Torch Red example (which for marketing purposes sports “WHOOSH” license plate calligraphy) and a blacked-out unit that’s affectionally called “PSSSSH.”

Those are great names for C8 aficionados who are eagerly waiting for more power and don’t want to go down the “twin-turbo” route. No one will blame them for patiently expecting a professionally developed kit because we already know the deal with eager vloggers and their hasty projects.

Back to ProCharger, the aftermarket specialist recently came up with another teaser feature for the C8 program. It’s a comprehensive one because we’re given both a few new details, a first look at the engine bay assembly, as well as a new video (embedded below) of both ‘Vettes roaring on the dyno stand.

It’s great to see the neatly packed supercharger system given the tight space available for the 6.2-liter V8 in the first place. And it’s even better to hear the assembly showcasing its might under full acceleration. Even better, we now know there’s 200+ horsepower to be had from the bolt-on kit, which comes complete with 8-9 PSI of boost, air-to-water intercooler system, and a CNC billet intake manifold.

The 40 to 45% power increase (on premium fuel) is quite impressive indeed, especially since the supercharger upgrade doesn’t need special attention in terms of installation methods – and the kit can even be bolted on via common hand tools. That sounds like a neat DIY project for those with a little knowledge of C8 mechanics.

Although we appreciate the latest teaser containing various “new sights and sounds of C8 Corvette supercharged glory,” unfortunately there’s still no word on the actual moment of availability or pricing. Hopefully, ProCharger is gearing up for a delightful surprise in the early days of 2021.
