Here's a familiar recipe: buy an S550-generation Mustang, take it down the aftermarket path, and start (drag) racing - YouTube will love you. Then again, things aren't always that simple, as the Stang-vs-Stang velocity battle we have here comes to show.
This fight involves a pair of cool Mustangs that left the factory with N/A V8s, with both now making use of forced induction.

One of these is a 2016 Mustang GT fited with a Procharger P1X. Thanks to this centrifugal supercharger and a 93-octane tune, the Gen II Coyote V8 under the hood now delivers close to 600 horsepower at the rear wheels.

The pony also comes with air suspension (yep, a bit of weight was added), a widebody kit and a wrap. Since all these had to have a name, it is nicknamed Batstang.

As for its opponent, which is known as Akela, this Shelby GT350 has seen its 5.2-liter Voodoo engine receive a positive displacement supercharger, namely an Edelbrock TVS 2650, a Lund tune, and more. Following the aftermarket work, the flat-plane crank V8 produces north of 700 horsepower at the rear wheels.

And while newer Mustang GTs can be had with the ten-speed automatic, the example we have here sports the six-speed manual, which puts it on par with the GT350.

Stang Mode, the YouTuber behind the wheel of the Batstang, used to drive a seriously modded 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 dubbed The Hulk, which had been dialed to about 1,000 hp at the wheels. The monster build crushed Akela during a race held back in the fall, but its engine blew up meanwhile.

And while the GT500 is almost ready to return to the road, Anastasia, the lady who hoons Akela, has recently called out the Stang Mode in his Batstang.

Now, as you'll be able to see at the 2:30 point of the clip below, the muscle cars duked it out on three occasions, with a clear winner emerging (please don't use this as an example and stick to the track for racing).
